My Fiber Studio, Pieces-N-Time, is located on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland.

I learned to sew at my grandmother's Singer treadle sewing machine, making clothes for my dolls. Sewing became a much loved on-going activity. My grandmother also taught me to knit. While in college, my first real knitting project [wash cloths and scarves don't count] were Argyle socks for my then boyfriend, now husband of 42 years. I did not know socks, especially Argyle, were an advanced project!

My designs are an artful blend of rich colors. They reflect my experiences while living in such diverse places as my native state of New Hampshire with its riot of fall color and beautiful white snow; in California’s Mojave Desert with it’s subtle, but contrasting textures; in Seville Spain home of the captivating colors and rhythms of Flamenco; in New Mexico where North, South, East and West form a unique blend of colors and textures; in Ohio with its tornadoes and black ice storms and now on the edge of Maryland’s ever changing Chesapeake Bay with its white-caps shimmering against a colorful sunrise or the winter alpine glow.

My creations are available in many forms. They include wearable art as well as many functional decorator items and seasonal gifts for home, school and office.

Using traditional methods, contemporary tools, and an electric sewing machine, these colorful designer items are fabricated from a wide selection of 100% cotton fabric. Backs of a few wallhangings are cotton/polyester blend. All fabrics are washed/preshrunk before the fabrication of any item begins.

The hand knit portions of the wearable art contain only the highest quality yarns of 100% wool, acrylic/wool blends and acrylic. These colorful yarns are selected to either complement or to accent the key color of the pieced and quilted portions of the garment.

All wallhangings, wearable art, placemats and hotpads are hand washable.

I am very involved with the on-line genealogy community. I manage regional genealogy mail lists for Essex County, Massachusetts [where many of my immigrant ancestors settled in the 1600s], New Hampshire [my native state], Grafton County, New Hampshire, [home to many of my husband's ancestors] and a surname mail list for Ordway, [my mother's surname].
